How To Perform The AOL Mail Sync Settings?

When you synchronize your AOL mail account with an e-mail client, you can send and receive the e-mails from your AOL account on the e-mail client itself. You can use the IMAP or POP protocols to set up your mail account to synchronize with AOL mail. If you want to do AOL mail sync settings, you should configure the appropriate settings on your e-mail client and the mail server. Synchronize AOL Account With IMAP Protocol

When you configure your AOL account with the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), it will save all your e-mails on the server until you delete them. Moreover, IMAP synchronizes with the server and provides your read and unread messages up to date.

Step 1:On your computer, log in to your e-mail client.

Step 2:Go to Settings, select Manage Accounts, and choose your AOL account.

Step 3:Click on Mailbox sync settings and select Change mailbox sync settings.

Step 4:In the IMAP Username field, type the user id of your AOL account (username@aol.com).

Step 5:For the Incoming Mail Server, type imap.aol.com, and enter the Port number as 993.

Step 6:In the SMTP Outgoing Server Address field, enter smtp.aol.com, and set the Port number as 465.

Step 7:For both incoming and outgoing servers, enable the SSL type of encryption.

Step 8:In the SMTP Username field, enter your AOL user id (username@aol.com)

Step 9:In the SMTP Password field, enter the password you use to log in to your e-mail client account.

Synchronize AOL Account With The POP Protocol

If the AOL Mail login issue is due to a problem with your browser settings, then reset them. The following steps are for resetting the Google Chrome browser settings.

Step 1:Log in to your desktop e-mail client. Then, go to Settings, select Manage Accounts, and choose your AOL account.
Step 2:Click on Mailbox sync settings and select Change mailbox sync settings.
Step 3:In the POP3 Username field, type the user id of your AOL account (username@aol.com).
Step 4: For the Incoming Mail Server, enter pop.aol.com. For the Standard connection, enter the Port number as 995 and enable the SSL encryption.
Step 5: In the SMTP Outgoing Server Address field, enter smtp.aol.com. Then, set the Port number as 465 and enable the SSL type of encryption.
Step 6:In the SMTP Username field, enter your AOL user id (username@aol.com).
Step 7:In the SMTP Password field, enter the password you use to log in to your e-mail client account.
