  • Step 2: Open the browser on your system and enter the email application you use in the address bar, hit the Enter button.
  • Step 3: Once you log in to your email account, minimize the browser for some time.

Locate the folder you want to attach:

Now, browse through the Windows computer and select the folder you wish to send as a mail attachment.

Compress the folder:

  • Step 1: Right-click on the folder and click the compress file option.
  • Step 2: The file size will shrink to a more manageable size and then moves into a compressed folder called the Archive.
  • Step 3: On Windows 8 and Windows 10, you will find the same compressed option when you right-click on a folder.
  • Step 4: Open a folder, and on the top of the windows pane, you will see the option; click the Share option and click on Zip.
  • Step 5: The Windows XP version does not have the same solution, and you have to create a new zipped file on your desktop and then drag and drop the folder into the compressed folder.
  • Step 6: To create a Compressed folder, right-click on the desktop and click New > Compressed (Zipped) folder and hit the enter button.

Attach Compressed Folder to Email:

  • Step 1: You can open the email application or visit the browser-based email application, and open the compose email pop-up.
  • Step 2: Click the paperclip icon located at the bottom left of the compose window and browse for the compressed folder.
  • Step 3: You can click on the Send button after adding the recipient email address in the To field.
  • Step 4: When the receiver opens the email, all that has to be done is to extract these files to a proper folder destination and finally gain access to it.

Cloud Storage Service (Optional)

  • Step 1: You can use the cloud storage in the email application in case the folder size is exceeding the limit of 25 MB.
  • Step 2: You can also download the Winrar application to easily cut down on large-sized files into chunks, In case it is too large, you can go ahead in selecting and sending one file at a time.

How To Email A Folder For Mac OS?

Compress the folder:

  • Step 1: Launch your Mac operating system.
  • Step 2: When the Mac launches, you will see the taskbar on top of the desktop.
  • Step 3: Click on the file option and click Compress,
  • Step 4: An alternate way of compressing the folder is to perform a right-click on a selected folder and click the Compress option.

Attach the compressed folder in the mail

  • Step 1: Open the mail application in your Mac and log in to the email account by entering the credentials.

  • Step 8: Click on the Send to option and click Compressed (Zipped) Folder.
