K9 MAIL LOGIN

HOW TO LOG IN TO THE K-9 MAIL APP

Step 1:On your Android phone, open the Play Store application.

Step 2:Search for K-9 Mail. When it shows you the search results, locate K-9 Mail and tap Install.

Step 3:Once the app gets installed on your Android phone, give the necessary permissions.

Step 4:Now, open the K-9 Mail app and tap Next on the Welcome screen.

Step 5:On the Set up a new account screen, enter your email address and the app password in the respective fields and tap Next.

Note: Ensure that you have already created an app password for your K-9 Mail app. If you are unsure about the procedure, refer to the next section.

Step 1:On the Account Type screen, tap IMAP or POP according to your preference.
Step 2:IMAP and POP are the incoming server protocols. They differ in the way they store emails.
Step 3:When you take IMAP, it stores the emails in the server so that you can access your emails anytime, anywhere. But, POP stores emails on the device (on which you download them), and you cannot access your emails from various devices.
Step 4:On the Incoming server settings page, enter the server details in the respective fields and tap Next.
Step 5:Now, specify the outgoing server details on the Outgoing server settings screen and tap Next.
Step 6:Specify your synchronization and notification settings on the Account options screen and tap Next.
Step 7:Input your account name and your name in the appropriate fields and tap Done.
Step 8:Now, K-9 Mail will start fetching your folders and synchronizing your emails.

CREATE AN APP PASSWORD FOR YOUR K-9 MAIL APP

Step 1:On your Android phone, go to the Settings section and tap Password & Security.
Step 2:Locate the Third Party apps option and tap Manage.
Step 3:When prompted, enter your phone’s password and tap the New App Password option.
Step 4:Tap the K-9 app and tap Generate Password.
Step 5:On the following screen, it will display your new app password. Copy and paste the password into the password section of the K-9 Mail app.
