How To Configure Verizon SMTP Settings?

Mail servers are of two types: the incoming mail server and outgoing mail server.POP and IMAP are the incoming mail servers and SMTP is the outgoing mail server. Steps To Configure SMTP Settings For Verizon Mail

Step 1: Account type - SMTP
Step 2: Port - 465
Step 3: Encryption - SSL

Use one of these incoming mail servers information to configure your account in an email client.

IMAP

Step 1: Account type - IMAP
Step 2: Server name - imap.aol.com
Step 3: Port - 993
Step 4: Authentication - SSL

POP

Step 1: Account type - POP3
Step 2: Server name - pop.verizon.net
Step 3: Port - 995
Step 4: Authentication - SSL

Configure Verizon Email Account In Mac Mail

Step 1: To configure your email account using SMTP settings for Verizon, launch the Mail application.

Step 2: If you are setting up the Mac Mail application for the first time, select the AOL radio button and click the Continue button.

Step 3: Enter the following Verizon email account information and click the Sign In button.

Step 4: Name - Your name

Step 5: Email Address - Your Verizon email address

Step 6: Password - Your Verizon email password

Step 7: Select the Mail checkbox and then click the Done button.

Step 8: To update Verizon SMTP settings, relaunch the Mac Mail application.

Step 9: Click Accounts -> Account Information.

Configure Verizon Email Account In Mozilla Thunderbird

Step 1: To set up your email account using Verizon SMTP settings, open the Mozilla Thunderbird application.
Step 2: In the left panel, navigate to the Local Folders tab.
Step 3: Go to the Accounts section followed by the Create a new account section in the main panel.
Step 4: Click the Email link.
Step 5: On the Welcome to Thunderbird screen, click the Skip this and use my existing email button.
Step 6: Type your Verizon email account information as given below.
Step 7: Your name - Your display name
Step 8: Email address - Your Verizon email address
Step 9: Password - Your Verizon email password
Step 10: To save your Verizon email password in Mozilla Thunderbird, select the Remember password checkbox.

Step 22: Outgoing Port - 465
Step 23: Outgoing SSL - Autodetect
Step 24: Outgoing Authentication - Normal password
Step 25: Outgoing Username - Your Verizon email address
Step 26: Click the Done button to finish your Verizon email account setup.

Configure Verizon Email In Windows Live Mail

Step 1: Open the Windows Live Mail client.
Step 2: Click the Accounts tab followed by the Email button.
Step 3: Fill the following fields.
Step 4: Email address - Your Verizon email address
Step 5: Password - Your Verizon email password
Step 6: Display name for your sent messages - Your full name
Step 7: Select the checkbox beside the Remember this password and Manually configure server settings options.
Step 8: Click the Next button to proceed.
Step 9: Enter the SMTP settings as given below and then click the Next button.
Step 10: In the Incoming server information section:
Step 11: Server type - IMAP or POP
Step 12: Server address - imap.aol.com (IMAP) or pop.verixon.net (POP3)
Step 13: Port - 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP3)
Step 14: Authenticate using - Clear text
Step 15: Logon user name - Your Verizon email address
Step 16: In the Outgoing server information section:
Step 17: Server address - smtp.verizon.net
Step 18: Port - 465
Step 19: To complete your email account configuration using SMTP settings for Verizon, click the Finish button.
