Case 1: If there are changes in the Xplornet email password

Usually, Outlook prompts for a new password if the email password has been changed. So, if you are prompted, enter your current password and select the Save this password in your password list checkbox. Click OK to update your password.

If your Outlook app doesn’t prompt for a new password, update it manually by following these steps.

  • Step 1:In the Outlook app, click the File tab and select Account Settings twice.
  • Step 2:Choose your Xplornet email account and click Change.
  • Step 3:Input the updated password in the required field and click Next.
  • Step 4:Once you get the Tasks complete message, click Close –> Finish –> Close.

Now, the Xplornet.com email problems should be fixed in the Outlook app.

Case 2: If the email problem occurs for no reason

  • Step 1: Launch the Outlook app and click the File tab.
  • Step 2: Select Account Settings twice and choose your email account from the displayed list.
  • Step 3: Click Change and check the server settings.
  • Step 4: If you have configured your email as IMAP, the incoming mail server name should be imap.xplornet.com.
  • Step 5: Otherwise, check if pop.xplornet.com is entered in the Incoming mail server field.
  • Step 6: Next, check if smtp.xplornet.com is entered in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field.
  • Step 7: The User Name field should be filled with your Xplornet.com email address.
  • Step 8: Check if the correct password is entered in the Password field.
  • Step 9: Click on More Settings to open the Internet Email Settings window.
  • Step 10: In the Outgoing Server tab, ensure that the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox is selected.
  • Step 11: Also, check if the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option is enabled.
  • Step 12: In the Advanced tab, check the server port numbers and security types.
  • Step 13: Click OK and select Test Account Settings to verify the configured settings.
  • Step 14: Once the verification is complete, click Next and select Finish.
